About this session

This session brings together different people who are working to hold YouTube accountable for their toxic video recommendation engine. Participants will hear stories from YouTube users alongside experts who research this problem at a large scale and activists who are pressuring YouTube to do more to fix this problem.

Goals of this session

With this session we want to raise awareness about the work going on to hold YouTube accountable for their video recommendation algorithm and provide a way for participants to get involved. We also hope to spark conversation about the limits of algorithmic transparency in preventing the manipulation of users and the spread of harmful content.
