That’s originally GitHub flavored markdown, so
```language name
to start the code block. Many markdown consumers support that kind of code block these days.

Or all Markdown features are supported here?
As the placeholder in the new post box says, basic markdown should work for sure. Same for BBCode and apparently at least some HTML.
I always start to type so fast that I’ve never noticed that placeholder message!
