What's the origin of "ARE X Y YET?"

Around Mozilla I see many examples of “Are X Y Yet?” naming (X = mostly “we”). What is the origin of these phrases? Since which point have they been preferred?

As I recall, arewefastyet.com was the original one. I thought it was older, but the earliest references I can find date back to 2010, like this one from September of that year:
