What's new on Discourse? (2019-07-29)

Mozilla People Directory (people.mozilla.org) Profile Integration

I’m pleased to announce that Discourse integrates with the new people.mozilla.org profile service on sign up. Staff members without a Discourse account will be prompted to link their Mozilla People Directory profile during Discourse sign up. Once linked, all relevant fields from people.mozilla.org set to public display (like username, description, location, and so on) will be linked with their Discourse profile and will update whenever updated on people.mozilla.org.

Our next steps are to provide a migration pathway from current Discourse-only staff profiles to people.mozilla.org-linked ones for those who would like to connect their profiles.

Updated Theme

To tie in with this release, we’ve updated the visual look here on Discourse to look more like the new visual style rolling out across the IAM stack. We hope you like it, and we’ll continue to make small improvements as time goes on.

Dark Theme

This new theme includes a dark variation. To enable it, go to your user preferences and select “moz://a dark beta” from the theme dropdown.

Please reply with any issues here, or report them in our issues repo. Thanks!
