tl;dr: Can someone help do any user testing/a survey/data gathering about users use of the “Last time you logged in with” button?
When we first enabled the Auth0 Lock and began using Auth0, we enabled an option in Auth0 so that if the user already had an active session with Auth0, it would prompt them to confirm that they wanted to log into the relying party (website) they were going to with their current user or give them the chance to change and login as a different user.
Without this option enabled, the user never sees this prompt and is immediately sent to the relying party as the identity they are currently logged into Auth0 as.
The reason I pushed for this option being enabled was so that if John Doe visited mana and logged in as jdoe@mozilla.com, and then later went to discourse where they had an account under the email address john.doe@gmail.com, they’d have an opportunity to change to using the correct identity with discourse as opposed to having a new account created on discourse as jdoe@mozilla.com
Since the deployment of Auth0 I’ve heard anecdotally complaints about always having to click the grey button. As someone who probably doesn’t have any accounts on relying parties that use auth0 other than my primary gene@mozilla.com identity, I’m also irritated by having the click the button.
Can someone help us to do some kind of data gathering or user testing to determine if people want this button, need this button, don’t want this button etc?
Once we have any data other than annectdotal stories about whether this is good or bad, we can either leave it or disable it.
