Server side website presentation

Hello,

If an add-on has a server side website (during the use of the add-on a server-side webpage like: a blog is shown to the user).

What is the policy towards this? What are the restrictions?

Thanks

You are allowed to do this.
You just are not allowed to download remote scripts and execute them unless you have a valid reason. If you have a reason you’ll have to appeal to the admins and they might allow it.

My addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/english-english-dictionary/?src=search was denied full approval because of the following arguments given by the reviewer:

The following issues need to be addressed so we can grant your submission full approval:

  1. Please include all static resources (for example images, css files, fonts) in your add-on

Can someone look at this add-on and guess what’s wrong with it?

Cheers,
Larry

This does look like a strange one. Maybe the reviewer pasted in the wrong cookie-cutter message? I can think of things they might complain about, but wouldn’t describe any of them as “static resources” that aren’t available for review.

Depends on the context in which the resources are being loaded. If they can be used for user-tracking purposes, then it might be rejected during review.
