Moo Business Cards

Reps!

I’d like to introduce you to Moo.

A team at Mozilla was working for a while on a business card generator so that you can order Mozilla cards without editing source files etc, but that got stalled because of technical difficulty. A lot of people still wanted business cards, so I found an easier solution.

I’ve opened an account with Moo so that we can access their business platform. This makes it really easy for you to order Mozilla business cards. Just create an account with the link below, go to packs, and create a new pack.

https://www.moo.com/m4b/account/signup/landing/2ad76d31-5c7c-41e2-8c6f-f2b82b189f9f

If you’d like your cards to be shipped in/around Europe, choose the UK sizes so that they are dispatched from the UK factory.

Packs are available for Reps, Mozillians and Firefox Student Ambassadors

Right now, if you order cards, you’ll need to pay for them yourself. You can of course, request budget for them through the Reps process.

Let me know if you have any questions about using Moo, and I’d also be more than happy to send you source files/completed templates so that you can order cards from a different provider if Moo is inconvinent.

Hello, thanks for the initiative. I had a question regarding this. Since you mentioned we can request budget for the cards through the reps process.
What is the amount we can ask for? (On the webpage they mentioned we can order from 50-8000, but the default one is 200)
:grin:

Hey @tad,
The business cards’ designs are really sick; I like 'em. But I’m not sure if anybody likes to add languages and skills on the business cards.
Can we omit these?

Hi @soft,
I think there are logics for adding language and skills, as Mozilla is global and volunteers are from different regions so language is essential I think globally instead of local. And skills can be assumed as like the degrees that generally one puts on his/her business card but being a volunteer of Mozilla we are known by our contribution which is our skills maybe that’s why Skills sector is also important to me.

I should be more clear.

You can request budget. I’ve no idea whether it’ll be approved. You should request the amount you need. If you follow the order process through, you can create prices for all quantity options.

Let me make it clear, I’m not promising that you’ll be reimbursed. But you can ask :wink:

Thanks for clarifying this. For now Reps doesn’t have an SOP for Business Cards. Therefore I have started a thread on our alias to discuss this. For now there is no guarantee that you will be reimbursed.

Hey @desh;

Logic is not the fact here. The fact is we use business card to pass our contact info (perhaps an URL, a phone number and designation). This is not a portfolio that it needs to contain all our history and bio;
And what language we speak need not to be on cards; we do not exchange our vCards before speaking to each others.
And saying about skills, an URL is enough to redirect the card holder to your skills and other information;

Thanks

Yes @soft, I do appriciate with you too for local use. But as I mentioned earlier think globally where language and skill might be a fact! :wink:

FWIW I do like to have a blank space on the white side of the card for writing things in. It would be nice if the icons for those sections were optional. Especially as a Rep, I want the person to contact me so I can follow-up. If I have skills on it, they might find my card later and get confused that I’m not the right person to talk to.

Reps were definitely expected to print out business cards to have them on hand at some point. This seems like it was a lower priority and the card generator fell into “disrepair.” This is so not what the alias is meant for, should be on general :frowning:

Nice Idea!

An interesting option I have with moo is this:

If we have regional communities with 5+ reps, they probably only need a few cards each. Moo gives me the flexibility to order cards, and I can have as many different front sides as I like. So I could order 100 cards for 5 reps, and assign 20 per rep.

That feels much more cost effective, if we start talking about how ReMo might help fund this.

I’d be interested in being included on any discussions about who should have cards, @mkohler.

My cards arrived yesterday. There definetely is space on the white side to write stuff.

Pics of the finished product would be awesome!
