About this session

The central idea is to generate a conversation about what it means in terms of intimacy and consent, to give our biometric data indiscriminately and how much sensitive information can be inferred from our fingerprint, our face, our eyes and even our voices.

While this discussion takes place, the participants will think about how biometric data is not unusual on public and private scenarios. They will also discuss about how, without proper legal frameworks, individual actions of self conscience, and duly informed consent, that information may be used against their own interests when doing daily actions, like applying for a bank loan or even walking freely around the street.

At the end of the game session, the goal is to generate awareness on how this issue is currently evolving within our own countries without us having a clear knowledge.

Goals of this session

The goal is to create a playful scenario which allows participants to create their own adventure deciding whether or not an avatar will provide its biometric data according to daily situations. While the main story gets twisted, they will be exploring the consequences of their decisions. The main idea of this adventure is to raise concerns about intimacy, privacy, consent and human rights.

As a result of group discussions we will design a brief “pocket game rules” on how to prevent the worst possible scenarios derived from decisions in which they gave their biometric data without sufficient care and/or without fully informed consent.

At the end of the session, the group can decide whether or not to exhibit their pocket game rules or to just simply put them into their pockets to remind themselves what may happen when uninformed decisions about their biometric data are taken.
