About this session
LGBTIQ+ human rights movements around the world recognize the internet as a critical site in the struggle for sexual and reproductive health rights, gender equality, empowerment, and liberation. This learning forum will revisit the Yogyakarta Principles (YP) and the YP+10 that includes Principle 36: The right to enjoyment of human rights in relation to information and communications technologies and the Feminist Principles of the Internet (FPI) with five (5) broad clusters: Access, Movement, Economy, Expression, and Embodiment/Agency. This workshop seeks to answer the question: In what ways can LGBTIQ+ rights defenders mobilize YP, YP+10, and the FPI for movement building in the digital age?
