Kab team, CV and prizes

The kab team initiated a prize for contribution on CV and SC every three months.

The first edition (July 2109) prizes were decerned to Rafik and Takfarinas for their contribution on recording and validating on CV.

The prize consists on a pack of Kabyle books.

Next Edition September 2019.

Another prize will be launched next month to reword Sentence Collector contributors.

These actions are initiated to boost the kab voice corpus. I think such actions can also help to boost voice corpora for minor languages.

Iā€™m specially happy to see the efforts around collecting sentences. This is key for languages like Kabyle since, as far as I see right now, there are only 35,7K sentences in the system.

There are 258hrs recorded for Kabyle, and in order to avoid people repeating the same sentences over and over again you would need more than 232K sentences to have all these hours without repetitions (4s avg per sentence).

Remember that Deep Speech then only use one recording per sentence so we need to avoid having more hours than sentences we have :slight_smile:
