This dissertation about multitask and transfer learning was posted online recently:

Thought it might be of interest to people here as it gives a useful introduction to various ASR concepts (plus extensive detail of the history of the field) and suggests some interesting approaches for low resource languages and training across languages & accents.

Josh was an intern at Mozilla while he was working on this, e.g. Chapter 8 used Deep Speech and Common Voice.
