About this session
In this workshop attendees will be given an introduction to servers and website in terms of hamburgers. This workshop will explain the process of a client connecting to a server (Including concepts such as URLs/cookies), requesting/receiving a website and building a website. This workshop will also allow the attendees to create their own basic website and will give them instructions on how to upload their website to create an account on GitHub and host their website.
Goals of this session
For attendees to
- grasp an understanding of the process of how web browsers and websites function,
- learn how to construct a basic webpage from scratch and understand different web frameworks,
- create a personalised webpage/website that they can take home with them.
