How to move and addon from the legacy status/addon bar

How do I move an addon button that is grey-out in the Customize Display and stuck in the legacy status bar to another location. Normal customize/drag/drop does not work for this addon (Gmail Manager-community 0.7)? I use both CTR and Status4Evar, but still cannot move it.

This addon works normally except randomly when I click on its button, I get the handgrab icon and the only way to restore normally functionality is to open/close the Customize panel. This issue has occurred in all FF 39.x versions and possibly ever since the current Customize UI has been in effect.

Any help is greatly appreciate.

It’s likely the add-on doesn’t use the “new” toolbar and button APIs. The add-on would need to be adapted to use those APIs in order to continue working correctly.

Yes that seems to be the problem. Does this mean the button will be stuck
in the legacy addonbar (or whatever its now called) forever? The addon is

It will unless it’s updated to use the newer APIs.
