This session is facilitated by Catherine Stihler
About this session
As the head of the Open Knowledge Foundation, I am in charge of a team of people dedicated to the pursuit of a fair, free and open future. But we understand that most people don’t understand what we are talking about when we talk about open.
This is why we combined forces with other leading open organisations to produce a report called Sum of our parts where we sought to strengthen our partnerships and work on how we communicate why being open makes things better.
During this session, I will lead a discussion about the open movement. I will talk about the Sum of our parts project and then, using my experience as a member of the European Parliament (MEP), I will talk with participants about their experiences and challenges to find lessons we can all learn from and share in order to build a stronger, cohesive narrative.
Goals of this session
Our goal is to work together to create a common language around an open future fit for today and not the past, to reach a mainstream audience, essential for success.
