Increasingly (not often, but still more than we used to) we see items listed as “historical” in specifications. Basically, this means “something that we’d like to remove but can’t because it’s just too entrenched now.”
It’s not deprecated, because there’s no plan to actually remove it. It’s just… historical.
I believe we should add standard badging to label items as being historical, similar to what we do with deprecated items.
