Is there a way to remove the white tinge and make it appear like the top half?
The “white thingie” is the toolbar. You can chose the color it gets, but I don’t believe that you can make it entirely transparent, however I have never tried myself nor have I attempted to find out, so maybe setting the toolbar color to transparent fixes it (but may bring other issues with itself).
If you uploaded that theme you can go in and edit it to remove the color by lowering the transparency.
