General Questions Regarding Budget Requests (in reference to a particular bug)

The talks of making budget process easier is going on. Surveys are being sent and newer types of budget are coming up (Petty Cash).

In the midst of this we, from the Mozilla Nepal Community are struggling to do an event.

I’d like fellow Reps, Mentors, Coaches and related stakeholders to provide constructive comments regarding the following Budget Request:

The answers I’m looking are for the following range of questions:

  1. What could have made the whole process easier?
  2. Was there something we the organizers missed to take into account while filing the request?
  3. What circumstances lead us to wait 3+ months (btw, still awaiting final status) to reach a decision? Was It because we did something incorrectly/inadequately?
  4. Is this happening because we’re not one of the focus community?
  5. Does this mean that it is encouraged to do events with lesser budget (<500$) rather than these kind of events?
  6. Does Reps Council realize that elongating decision period might have adverse effect on event/event-planner?

I would like to know your views on these questions and hope that discussing these questions will contribute to the greater good in community.
