Hi,
Right now email notifications come with “[Mozilla Discourse]” tag on the subject.
It would be nice to have “[CategoryName]” to be able to filter them.

@logan @yousef what’s the best way to bump this up or to track all the suggestions?
I think this is a blocker for people following Discourse just from email.
Please see this thread on Meta (I linked to a post where one of the main developers was asked to implement a configurable subject line with substitution variables). There haven’t been any updates on this, though, unfortunately.
As soon as this is implemented in Discourse, we can definitely configure it over here to ease the transition from Mailman-based mailing lists.
Looks like that thread just got updated, they’re going to implement it.
As far as I read, this was already implemented (maybe in 1.0 branch), see https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/t/update-to-1-0-2/815/1
This feature was merged yesterday so it might be in the next update.
I was wondering if we wanted to keep the “[Mozilla Discourse]” bit or just have category name in the subject? My preference is the latter as it would keep it short, especially with long category titles such as “Tablet Contribution Program”
I agree, it’s better to have just the category name.
We’ve implemented this feature. Testing right now.
another test, hopefully this one doesn’t have category name twice.

It works!
And it seems they have improved it even more adding List-ID headers:

Yay!
