Facebook Messenger on Firefox OS

Hi,
Facebook released a website for running messenger in the browser, www.messenger.com/login.
This would be very nice for using on Firefox OS, but somehow it won’t load that page on my Flame.
Anyone else able to pen the page?

Not working for me either, not on a Flame or on the simulator. It looks like it must be a problem on Facebook’s end, since I’m getting a 500 response when I try to load it:

hi @Fjoerfoks,
this page won’t load on android browsers(Firefox and Chrome) also…

well… facebook congratulations on such a… well working component… lol

I’ll stick to Telegram and IRCCloud

FWIW https://www.messenger.com/ works just fine with today’s Firefox Nightly, I’ll test on my Flame tomorrow…

Also, messenger.com is not designed (yet) to support mobile viewports, so even if it does work on the Flame*, it is not really useful (but, indeed, is a great start - it would certainly be a fairly straightforward job for FB to enable mobile/smallscreen use. At this point this is more of a business decision, rather a technical barrier, though).

(* it doesn’t work on the Flatfish, either – just shows a splash screen and nothing else).

Doesn’t work on Flame either… Time for an early webcompat.com bug I guess.

I had a little play around today, and though a bit of a hack got Messenger ‘working’:

I have been working on a full native facebook app but I think i am stopping it, from what i hear facebook soon will be enabling native calls for push notifications so would make the app useless.
