About this session
There will be a presentation, interactive. Then Q and A and discussion
Goals of this session
This session aims to show participants what access to social media data can do for researchers in the arts and culture sector, in terms of unlocking fresh insights into cultural participation and the contemporary meanings of the past. This will be done via a presentation, delivered by the co-organisers. Then the session will involve participants in discussion, asking them about their views in relation to the use of their own social media data for similar kinds of research as those presented previously. The overall goal of the session is to develop knowledge about what it is considered acceptable by people when it comes to accessing, collecting, manipulating and analysing social media data for research purposes vs. commercial purposes.
