Council Meeting Notes 2016-05-11

Hi everyone

Here are the Council meeting notes from last week. Please feel free to use this thread as a discussion platform around those :slightly_smiling:

London Design Thinking
We have prioritized the design thinking sessions we want to have in London. These will be (in descending order of priority): Accountability, Resources, Trust, Elections, Recognition, Conflict Resolution. Lower priority doesn’t mean we don’t take it seriously, but the first three are blockers for proposals from Working Groups to be implemented.

We will held these sessions in London, all Reps that are invited to London are gladly invited to join us! We’re thinking of doing interviews with Reps before London, so every interested Rep could share feedback on the problem statements.

Working Groups
Alignment: The alignment proposal is approved and we’ve started to come up with OKRs to keep the process going.

Mentoring: We are currently reviewing the first draft of the Mentorship proposal
The rest of the working groups are on track as well, with sessions that will be held in London. We have just created 3 topics on Discourse for the Meta Working Group, please chime in with your thoughts there!

Reps OKR
We have started to create OKRs for the Reps program (https://github.com/mozilla/Reps/issues/27) for the second quarter as described in the Alignment process. We have agreed on two OKRs, one of which is, unsurprisingly the RepsNext implementation. We are now in the final phase to have a helpful phrasing and completely agreeing on them, after that we will publish them and also start a discussion on Discourse to get your feedback.

Council Chair
We decided on a new Council chair, the announcement will follow soon. For now, thanks a lot to Faisal for your hard work as Chair!

Update of Reps Issues on GitHub
We have updated the issues on the Reps GitHub repository, have a look there to get involved and keep up to date with what we’re up to.
