I think Microsoft offered many years ago OS, database, Office package and web browser … I know nothing from this was excellent, but sometimes working ! 
After many disappointments and unfulfilled promises I went from Microsoft and I learn Ubuntu 14.04, Python 2.7 and Firefox with iMacros … I am affraid that many programmers (which went from Microsoft) not able to offer everyuser similar functioanlity as on the Microsoft environment …
I think that many people need to help with simple examples from daily life … which not existing, or existing and nobody knows about it …
Please I would welcome enlightement and I believe, that You may considerably increase Your market share …
