Change log for the OTAs

Hi

I am using a Flame phone on the nightly-latest channel and I’m getting 2 OTA’s per day. I update in the morning and then in the afternoon  however, I don’t know what is changed in these OTAs or what are the new features!

Is there a changelog somewhere?

It’s difficult to follow up on things without this documentation. Also the Foxfooding app shows no updates since the 26 oct so I’m a bit lost with this.

Regarding the changelog, we are not really landing new major features in these updates, especially now that 2.5 is complete. Most OTAs now contain bug fixes and remaining work for some features, which can be seen here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox_OS/Releases/2.6. This page should be updated as development progresses.

Hm…this is not really what I was asking for. I checked the page and I don’t see the defects I register weekly and get fixed in the OTAs I install. Also it’s not very nice/easy to follow what’s there. It looks like a dump of information!

What I want is a change log per OTA. Like the OTA this morning: 20151119150204 -> what bugs did it fixed? what functionality did it bring in…and so on

Regarding OTAs, I haven’t had an OTA in weeks… Dunno if i should be worrying when others get two a day? I made sure I’m on the right update channel

I am on the nightly-latest channel, that’s why I get 2 per day

There are different channels for the Flame. See https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/t/flame-update-channels-explained/5429

Errietta, what update channel have you set?

If u use foxfooding device, there was no new build

We don’t have a changelog like you describe, and I don’t think any of our products have a daily changelog. Remember that there are fixes at the Gecko level as well, so that means the changelog would have to include the fixes in both Gaia and Gecko when the code is merged at various points.

You can track bugs you have reported and monitor when they get checked in, as well as watch components in Bugzilla if you are interested in particular functionality.

I’m on dogfood channel

Errieta,

Could you please tell me what device you test with and if you get daily
OTA/FOTA updates in that channel? I would greatly appreciate it!

Many thanks!

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. I’m on dogfooding channel. I haven’t got an OTA update for over a week.

Thanks!
You are not getting updates because there is a bug related to that channel
in those sony’s devices.

My phone is a Flame, I get 2 updates per day but there isn’t a dogfood
channel update for flames yet… :frowning:

One approach you could take is to keep a list of the git changesets (referenced in the Settings → Device Information → More Information → Git Commit Info) and use that to check at the gaia repo
