tried to register a new account. filled in the form. got to the “Confirmation mail sent. You need to verify your account” screen where it told me that it sent me an email.

Verified that other addresses can send me the email. Vertified that http://ismyemailworking.com can send me an email, and hear my reply. So my email is working.
Checked my host. Disabled all spam related settings so any old junk can flow into my email box unfettered.
Fill in the form again with the same details - and get the validation error. This account already registered.
Do the account password reset thing. Says “An email has been sent”, and so on.

Try the login again. Fill in the captcha numbers since Mozilla obviously think I’m a bot by now. Message reads
“activation email sent” (btw, no, it hasn’t).
In the “having trouble” section, try clicking the “resent the confirmation message” button. Does it work? No, it doesn’t.
I think the “having trouble” section is bloody hopeless - “try again” is not the same as helping.
HOW do I activate my account SO THAT I can upload my plugin?
