About this session
Everyone knows the data economy is broken. But what is the solution? In this panel discussion we explore data unions: what are they and how they work to distribute data and money more broadly than ever before? In a world where everyone has joined a multiple data unions, what might be the possible knock-on benefits for wider society? Will open, ethical data sets increase economic fairness and innovation? How will legislation support data union growth? And will individuals be able to retain privacy in this vision? Finally, panelists will discuss what skills developer teams will need to build their own data unions and what opportunities exist for them to seize upon. Panelists include: Jason Lin (CEO, Optract), Henri Pihkala (Streamr ), and Alex Craven (Founder of The Data City, and ODILeeds)
