Hey Ikram - I am glad to see a QA Marathon. Let me know if I can help you make the queries for Bugzilla or if you need some documentation to teach people.

Good luck for the event!

Hello @Ioana
Thanks for the support . I will surely do need your help . I will reach out to you soon , after finalizing the first step of planning for the event

Hello Ikram - I am wondering who will be the mentors for this event - do we have people at the event that have a background in QA? The reason I ask is that all the various parts of QA (Firefox Desktop, Android, FX OS, WebQA, Cloud Services) are different - they often have different testing approaches and a different workflow even for filing bugs. Also is the focus for this event on Firefox Desktop? I think keeping the event focused in product scope will ensure it is more successful.

Hello @marcia
This event is Focused on Firefox and Firefox OS QA. The event will have 18 Hours ( In 2 Days ) session which will be focusing on Various Basic aspects of Firefox and Firefox OS QA. As Partcipants will be very new , the Goal is to introduce them with various ways of Testing and getting involve and let them decide how they wanna start contributing.

As I have been involved in Firefox QA for more than 6 month now (a little bit in Firefox OS QA too) , I myself will be mentoring and planning the whole session . I will have some more local mentor support who will help to mentor the participants. And besides , I am getting some more support from Firefox QA , Firefox OS QA ( working on it) , who will be trying to take some session via video call , which will cover the main need of mentors . And as we all anong with the participants will be connected via IRC , we will get more Global mentors

We have some scheduled topics for doing with Firefox OS QA

  1. Intro to Firefox OS QA
  2. Testing RTL
  3. A intro with Mozilla Location Service .

More thing will be added later .If you want me to cover anything else , please add them on the pad.

Regards

Thanks @IKRAM for hosting this event! Wa s a pleasure entering and sharing the mobile view - even if for a few minutes only. Should we follow up with the community on Facebook group? did they subscribe to dev-quality list?

@marcia - in the next goals and steps for community around QA should we use dev-quality as mail place to gather people?

I am fine with using dev-quality, but I don’t think it hurts to promote the page on Facebook as well as with a post on QMO. It would be great if those that attended could share their feedback and thoughts regarding the event.

I meant a place to keep the connection - like ask more questions about task, announce opportunities directly… @IKRAM

Hello @Ioana and @marcia
Actually, here , Facebook is the best way to get way to be connected. That’s why we have created a group so that we can share QA related news, event updates and so on in the group. And It is also the best way to be connected with them via this group , not dev-quality mailing list :sob:
